Margot with Crystal 2013 Bottle

Hello,
I'm Margot

I’ve got a lot to say. Some say I am a gobby little madam (especially the neighbours), which may be true. But what I have to say is worth listening to.

I have opinions on many things, from champagne to pubs to places to stay. All the opinions are my own, and no one sponsors me.

You may not agree with me on everything, but feel free to say so. I don’t bite, but I might politely grumble back.

My work - so far!

No expense spared in testing products and places!

Find Champagne houses
you've never heard of

There are thousands of different champagne makers, yet all too frequently, we only hear of the big-name houses on supermarket shelves. We now avoid the big-name houses when we are in Champagne and head straight for the small producer growers, with their fantastic, much-reduced price champagnes.

Tasting
Posh Champagnes

Of course, occasionally, it is mandatory to taste some expensive champagne; after all, I am worth it! And, being a bit gobby, I have to share my views on them, some of which might surprise you.

My Favourite Places

Enjoying beers, wines, crisps, and chips is not just about enjoying them; I love the thrill of travel and exploring new adventures! When it comes to my Border Terrier, I always keep them mentally stimulated, as a bored pup can lead to some interesting situations!

One of my favourite things is being chauffeured in my campervan, which I think is my cosy mobile kennel.

ST DAVIDS

One of my absolute favourite places to visit.

Sennen Cove

One of my absolute favourite places to visit. The peace, quiet and pubs suit my temperament.

Nosey

OK, not a place to visit but my mobile kennel is my favourite place. I don't care where I am, as I am cosy and safe in here!

Favourite places to stay

These sites can range from a full blown holiday camp to stop-over in a champagne house service yard. What they have in common is that it is somewhere my chauffeur and typist can park up for the night.

The views and the walks - so much to check out while I am here. We keep going back for a good reason.

Bouzy

Bouzy, Marne

Just a champagne makers service yard, but what champagne and a great little private space where I can run around safely.

Reuil, Marne

On the banks of the Marne, a quiet village, lovely walks, lovely champagne makers at Pernet-Mimin. What's not to like?

Pub Reviews

Not that I spend a lot of time in pubs, but I do have opinions of pubs that do and do not welcome pups like me. Some of these reviews have been left for me by my late bruv, Jake. Apparently he visited many more pubs than I have.

Drink responsibly

I know I review beers and champagne’s but remember, I only report on what the Chauffeur and Typist tell me about them. Remember, alcohol is poison to us furs.

And for the humans reading these pages, you often seem to forget that alcohol is a drug, and should not be misused. Consider yourself warned!
